Friday Field Trips

We live in a small, family friendly town--which I love. However, there is not a lot to do on rainy, hot, or cold days inside. So to keep us busy I have started doing Friday Field Trips. It gets us out of the house and we get to see what is going on around us.
I think the kids may have loved Krispy Kreme the best because of the doughnuts at the end. I have to say I enjoyed it too. Moms, this is the easiest trip to make. When the big lights are on and say "Hot and Fresh," they are giving out free doughnuts inside. There is a path for the kids to walk along while the doughnuts are being made. The kids can watch with an explanation you can read to them. Then ta-dah! Hot and fresh doughnuts at the end of the line! Love it!
The Post Office
This one was a bit over my kids' heads, but they were amazed at how much mail was there. I think it was good for them to see that the mail they send and get from Grandmas, Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends all have to come here before it can come to our house.

Hike! Okay, so this one was on a pretty day! We love Tanyard Creek. It is pretty all year long! The kids loved walking through the woods and finding flowers and rocks to throw in the river. They even walked the entire way by themselves.

. . . .more to come. . . .
